Characteristics of high turbidity water in water treatment equipment
The characteristics of high turbidity water are concentrated in the difference in sedimentation characteristics, (water treatment equipment) the sedimentation process will produce a muddy liquid surface and have the characteristics of interface sedimentation.
(1) The sand content is low (the sand content is below 6kg/m3), and when the composition of the sand particles is relatively coarse, it generally has the property of free settlement.
(2) When the sand content is high (above 6kg/m2, below 15-20kg/m3), or the sand particles are finer, flocculation settlement is formed due to the natural flocculation of fine sand.
(3) When the sand content is higher (>15-20kg/m or more), (water treatment equipment) fine-grained mud sand is bound to each other due to strong flocculation, forming a uniformly thick muddy water layer. The uniformly concentrated muddy water layer sinks at the same average speed and produces an obvious clear-muddy water interface, which is called muddy liquid level. Such settlement is called interface settlement. The fine-grained silt that forms a uniformly concentrated muddy water layer is called stable silt, and its particle size range increases with the increase of the sand content.
(4) The sand content of the raw water continues to increase, and the sand particles further flocculate into a spatial network structure, and the viscosity also increases sharply. At this time, the particles are no longer sorted due to different particle sizes in the sedimentation, but the coarse and fine particles together form a uniform system and are compressed and dehydrated, which is called compression sedimentation.
Different types of sedimentation have different rules and corresponding sedimentation speeds. The settlement of particles in high turbidity water obeys the law of interface settlement, so the sedimentation tank should be designed and operated according to the sedimentation speed of the ocean liquid surface.
